Therapy may not be enough to get a patient back to work. The more complex the injury and the longer a patient is off work, the more deconditioned and weak an individual may become.
Work conditioning is designed to do just that. Patients are assessed to determine mobility and strength deficits to establish a baseline. Often in conjunction with his/her employer, we customize a program to simulate the patient's specific work duties. Patients attend the program beginning at 2 hours per day and work up to a maximum of 4 hours per day, 3 to 5 days per week. This program has enabled many individuals to be able to return to work without restrictions.
